Eddie Daniels Jazz QuartetAugust 31, 2019 performance at 6:30 p.m. - $125
The debut event at Dave’s Jazz Bistro will feature the Eddie Daniels Jazz Quartet. The quartet will include an impressive group of musicians.
Mr. Daniels, a native New Yorker and current Santa Fean, was a good friend and an inspiration to Dave for many decades. Jazz critic Leonard Feather, said of Eddie, “It is a rare event in Jazz where one man can all but reinvent an instrument bringing it to a new stage of revolution.” (eddiedanielsclarinet.net) It is a rare treat indeed to enjoy a local performance by this Grammy award-winning clarinetist!
John Rangel will be on keyboard. John is a dynamic Composer and Jazz Pianist. He has been a professional musician for over twenty years and has played around the world with Jazz greats such as Nat Adderly, Marcus Printup, and Dwight Trible.
John Trentacosta, Native New Yorker and founder of the Santa Fe Music Collective (santafemusiccollective.org) will be on drums. In addition to teaching Jazz and starting the Jazz program at New Mexico School for the Arts, John has served as the rhythm force behind a wide range of jazz notables including Chuck Wayne, Al Porcino big band, and James Moody.
Michael Glynn will be on bass. Michael is a native to Seattle and began his jazz studies with former Count Basie and Louis Armstrong bassist Buddy Catlett. He has gone on to perform around the world with many Jazz legends including Dave Grusin, Bud Shank, Benny Green, and the Cab Calloway Orchestra.
The Eddie Daniels Jazz Quartet will inaugurate the Jazz Bistro with an August 31 2019 performance at 6:30 p.m. as a part of the City of Santa Fe’s exciting Music Week.
