Dave's Jazz Bistro
Evening entertainment just got tastier and more fun, since the Santa Fe School of Cooking has cooked up something out of the ordinary! On select evenings throughout the year, the Santa Fe School of Cooking will transform itself into Dave’s Jazz Bistro, featuring performances by world-class jazz musicians paired with a fine dining experience that only the School can deliver!
Dave’s Jazz Bistro was inspired by the passionate life led by the late David Ballantyne Curtis, husband of the School of Cooking’s Founder/Owner, Susan Curtis. Dave was an avid student of the clarinet and a lover of fine dining and great jazz. Dave passed away in 2017, but his spirit and his love of music live on through his children and grandchildren, three of whom are aspiring jazz musicians!
"This evening was a musical experience of a lifetime. It was simply a privilege to be present for this great musician’s birthday musical. We loved it. Delicious food and an absolutely first-rate venue made the evening unforgettable. Bravo!"Dave’s youngest daughter, Kristen Krell, developed the idea of Dave’s Jazz Bistro as a fun way to expand the family business while sharing Dave’s love for combining jazz and fine dining. She will be working with John Rangel, who will be the curator for the music performances. John is a multi-faceted musician, composer, and producer, originally from New York City and now based in Santa Fe. John has won multiple music awards and has performed with many jazz greats, including Nat Adderly, Marcus Printup, and Dwight Trible. www.johnrangel.com
